STILE
& RAIL WOOD DOORS Doors may be ordered in a variety of traditional designs, from the bold look of solid six panel models to the classic look of exquisite leaded glass decorative entrances detailed in brass or zinc caming. Most designs feature raised moulding and can also be paired with matching sidelights. Doors are sold unfinished, but can be stained beautifully or painted to match any décor (Advent doors come factory-primed and ready to paint). NOTE: Doors Are Sold Unfinished. Stile & Rail Door Construction
The stile & rail wood doors sold by TheDoorCompany.com feature the latest engineered construction methods for strength and durability. Mortise and tenon joints or fluted dowel pins are the preferred method of construction used to join the stiles and rails of the doors. Engineered
Stiles & Rails The fingerjointed or composite core is better than solid wood because the offsetting grain patterns resist the tendency to warp or twist. One or two-piece outer edge bands blend with surface veneers so that the fingerjointed or composite core is not visible. One-piece inner edge bands are provided on select grade doors so that no fingerjoints show in the sticking. Extra wide stiles available on many of the door designs allow for a variety of hardware options.
Engineered Innerbond® panels, are manufactured utilizing two laminated wood panel blanks with offsetting glue joints. When laminated together, the resulting panel provides extra strength and resistance to splitting. Hip-raised panels feature moulded edges and are available as Innerbond panels. Veneered, engineered panels also feature elegant raised moulding. Flat panels provide a classic craftsman style in the final door design. All engineered stiles and panels are manufactured with water-resistant exterior Type 1 adhesives. Glueline performance is checked in a quality control program that assures glueline integrity. Tests conform to PS 51-71 for Type 1 adhesives. The stile & rail wood doors sold by TheDoorCompany.com are warranted to meet the National Wood Window and Door Association (NWWDA) industry standard NWWDA I.S.6. Innerbond panels are further warranted against splitting through in any climate. See Warranties for more information. Glazing
& Glass Doors with leaded glass are expertly crafted with metal alloys providing strength and performance. The architectural type glass used in these doors has unique characteristics and may vary slightly in color or texture. Leaded glass doors meet the Consumer Product Safety Commission Federal Standard on architectural glazing materials. Insulated leaded glass (I.G.) units are triple glazed (clear 1/8" tempered glass on each side of the leaded glass). Glass in all doors with clear flat glass and non-leaded beveled clear glass is tempered, meeting ANSI Z 97.1 and the Consumer Product Safety Commission Federal Standard on architectural glazing materials. Most doors and sidelights are crafted with either 1/2" or thicker insulated glass, consisting of two 1/8" glass panes separated by a dead air space. Any doors with acrylic glazing material also meet the Consumer Product Safety Commission Federal Standard on architectural glazing materials. All insulated glass units in the stile & rail wood doors sold by TheDoorCompany.com are guaranteed for five (5) years against hermetic seal failure. See Warranties for more information. Wood
